Breed Inspection

The first method of evaluating breeding stock in many livestock registries is the studbook inspection.

Typically there are prerequisites in terms of pedigree, breed traits and standards (colour, conformation, height e.t.c) which vary depending on breed and society standards.

At KLBA, livestock inspection involves a closer examination of animals by breed and pedigree records by a trained breeds inspector. The inspected animals are passed to the correct grade in the upgrading scheme according to the set breed standards.

Process of Inspection

Registered breeds societies have qualified persons who have been trained as breed inspectors. By contacting our office, a breeds inspector closer to you shall be contacted to visit your farm.
